The Training

Acorn House also pledges to fully train 10 young adults each year in the eco friendly restaurant trade. Selected from the local community, this group will be offered a ground breaking opportunity not only to learn all aspects of the hospitality industry from leading industry experts, but how to run a kitchen that is environmentally aware. Respect for all the elements involved and awareness of the resources used in the provision of food is central to our training ethos.

You will take on The Acorn House Trust NVQ and certification in food & hygiene and health & safety. Every aspect of restaurant life, from washing dishes through to business plans, will be covered as you work alongside our full time brigade for a maximum of 36 hrs per week and spend a day in our training room to cover the college syllabus.

Our teaching model accommodates internal & external placements, college, work experience and scholarships. Training runs in conjunction with personal support from Bliss's management team.
